Question: How much does this bill cost?

The current estimate for the Elder Justice Act is $650 million a year for each of the seven years of the bill. However, the Congressional Budget Office has not scored the bill yet. The funds expended will jump-start critical research and programs to protect seniors against growing incidences of elder abuse, neglect and exploitation. This is a small amount of resources compared to the funding provided for child abuse which is almost $7 billion a year.
