Question: Who opposes the Elder Justice Act?
We are currently unaware of anyone or any group who opposes the need to protect our revered senior citizens from abuse. The number and breadth of organizations and interest groups that are represented in the Elder Justice Coalition who all favor the Elder Justice Proposal is an example of how well this bill has been received. The Coalition is comprised of representatives from state and local governments, law enforcement, social services, the aging network, elder law, medicine, industry, and academia. We recognize that the “devil is in the details” and that many will have specific interests. However, it is our hope that we can keep our “eye on the ball” and pass this desperately needed legislation where Congress has been remiss for far too long.
